How Investing Worked Before The Information Got Locked Upstairs

For most of market history, the edge was proximity. You knew somebody, or you didn't. The filings existed — they were just unreadable, unsearchable and three weeks late.

Then the disclosures went digital. Congress files. Institutions file 13Fs. It's all public. And almost nobody reads it, because reading it is a full-time job.

Why? Because the financial industry learned that confusion is profitable.

Fee-heavy funds, opaque strategies, quarterly letters that explain nothing. If you can't tell what a manager actually bought, you can't tell whether you're paying for skill or for marketing.

At Autopilot, we believe you should be able to see the trade and copy it.

Every portfolio on Autopilot shows its holdings and its history. When it trades, your account trades — in your brokerage, in your name, with your money never leaving your control.

Copying trades isn't the risk. Copying them blind is.

Let's be honest: connecting an app to your brokerage feels like a lot to ask.

So here's the arrangement. Your money stays at your brokerage. Autopilot Advisers, LLC is an SEC-registered investment adviser — the account is yours, the trades are placed inside it, and you can turn any portfolio off at any time. Every holding and every past trade is visible before you allocate a dollar.

The Autopilot Promise

{{ pr.label }} {{ pr.note }}

The filings land whether you are set up or not.

Every disclosure that drops before you connect is one your account sits out. Each portfolio publishes its own average delay from filing to trade, so the sooner the brokerage is linked, the less of that lag is yours.

Hey — I'm Chris Josephs. I run the Pelosi Tracker.

Co-founder of Autopilot, runs growth, creator of the Pelosi Tracker on X. Written in his voice — approve the wording before publishing.

Before Autopilot we built Iris, a social investing app. It taught us one thing: people don't want a feed about investing, they want to know what the person who's actually good at this just bought. Congressional trades are public record. They were beating most funds. So I started posting them.

The account became @pelositracker. Then people started asking the obvious question — how do I just own what she owns? Answering it properly meant brokerage integrations, an SEC-registered adviser, and a marketplace where anyone credible can publish a book. Autopilot has since been named on the floor of the House during debate on banning congressional stock trading. [[confirm before publishing]]

The mission hasn't moved: find the best investors and showcase them, to bring more transparency to the institutions.

Here's why I fell in love with the format

Here's the problem… "copy a politician's trades" sounds like a gimmick until you see the execution — the compliance, the brokerage plumbing, the order routing. That's the part you can't photograph. Which is why the video is above.

That's when Autopilot stopped being a tracker and became a platform.

One tap. Public filings. Your brokerage.
